Summary
Solar King has an interesting base game feature which can see some good returns on occasion and helps to keep the gameplay engaging. The RTP is a bit low for my liking though and I would have liked to have seen some extra effort go into the graphics to make for a more appealing playing atmosphere.

How it Pays and Plays
The maximum win is set at 2,221x whilst betting ranges from 0.2 coins up to 100 coins per spin. You play on a 4row 5 reel grid with 20 fixed paylines.
The RTP is a bit on the low side at just 95.45% and I would like to have seen it somewhat higher, definitely in the 96%+ range. Solar King is a medium to high variance slot.
Fixed Wild Symbols
Solar King is played in 10 spin segments, during each 10 spins if you land a sun symbol that will put a fire border around that position on the reel. If you land more than one sun symbol in the same position it adds a multiplier to that position, increasing by 1x with every symbol. At the end of each 10 spins all the places with a border around them which have seen a sun symbol land will all then turn into Wild symbols. This provides the opportunity for some big winning combinations and makes it so that you are always faced with the opportunity of something happening every 10 spins, which is a great way to keep the gameplay engaging.
Free Spins Bonus
Get 3 Scatter symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 and you get 10 free spins. During the free spins any sun symbols which land will turn their positions into Sticky Wilds for the duration of the bonus round. If you land the sun symbol more than once in the same position it will increase the multiplier by 1x each time.
Sound and Graphics
Solar King is set on the background of the Egyptian desert and it starts off at nighttime, the more spins you get through the sets of 10 the brighter the sun gets until it’s beaming on the 10th spin where the symbols turn into Wilds. It’s not a spectacularly detailed background.
Lower paying symbols are 10 to Ace playing cards. Premium symbols start from a pelican, a cat, a bird and a lion. Then it steps up a notch to the Gods Bastet and Horus and the top paying symbol, which is the Pharaoh who gives 10x for 5 of a kind.
The Wild symbols are represented by a blazing sun symbols with a fire border and WILD written on them. They sub for any other symbol except for the Scatters.
Scatter symbols are jewelled Scarabs and you need 3 of them to trigger the bonus round.
The music to accompany Solar King is the typical Ancient Egyptian sounding stuff with a beating drum helping to push thing s along, whilst the sound effects include the flaming noise of the sun symbols as they land. all pretty standard stuff, nothing that would make you look for the mute button but nothing inspiring either.
